The Municipality of Celje is participating in the world's leading real estate event, MIPIM, in Cannes, as part of the "Development of the Trnovlje South Economic and Business Zone" project. The event brings together over 20,000 participants from 90 countries, including investors, developers, architects, and representatives of cities and regions. It focuses on access to global capital and finding solutions for the sustainable and resilient transformation of urban environments.
At the event, we aim to learn about best practices in the development and management of business zones and real estate, the sustainable development of business areas, and other challenges that we can apply in the further development of the Trnovlje South Economic and Business Zone.
By participating in the fair, with representatives of the Municipality of Celje attending, we are implementing the second phase of the EPC Trnovlje South project, which is dedicated to supporting services for companies in the zone and promoting the zone in domestic and international markets. To promote the project abroad, we have, among other things, established an English website for EPC Trnovlje South and prepared a promotional brochure for potential investors in the further development of the zone.
Following the construction of road infrastructure and the development of utility infrastructure, we have enabled more than 5 hectares of new business space for entrepreneurial activities. The growth of the zone in the coming years envisages the development of approximately 19 hectares of land.
As part of the promotion at the MIPIM fair, we presented the completed infrastructure developments and the development potential of the zone at the exhibition space of the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for the Promotion of Investments, Entrepreneurship, and Internationalization, Spirit Slovenia, where they kindly offered us space for meetings and networking.
The value of the "Development of EPC Trnovlje South" project is 1.8 million euros, of which 1.02 million euros is co-financed by European funds from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP).
The MIPIM program in Cannes includes conferences, workshops, networking, and exhibitions that offer insights into the latest trends and opportunities in the real estate sector.
MIPIM began on Monday with the Housing Matters! conference, where London Mayor Sadiq Khan gave the opening speech, and on Tuesday, MIPIM was officially opened by Dr. Mario Draghi, former President of the European Central Bank and the Italian government.
