The Municipality of Celje has initiated the development of the Economic-Business Zone Trnovlje – South project, aimed at establishing municipal infrastructure and developing appropriate facilities in areas of the zone not yet occupied by business activities. The project also focuses on expanding the zone and attracting new small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to this location.
The "Development of the Trnovlje – South Economic-Business Zone" project is implemented within the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) and is classified under Development Area C3: Smart, Sustainable, and Inclusive Growth, Component K2: Increasing Productivity and Creating an Investor-Friendly Business Environment, and Investment D: Ensuring Innovative Ecosystems for Economic-Business Infrastructure.
Project Purpose and Objectives
The aim of the project is the development and expansion of the existing Trnovlje – South Economic-Business Zone (EPC) on unoccupied plots. This will contribute to strengthening the existing economic-business infrastructure ecosystem, creating opportunities for further specialization of the EPC, enhancing the competitiveness of businesses in the zone, and fostering a high-value business ecosystem

Project Impact Indicators
The project anticipates that, within three years of completion, at least 50% of the newly available commercial space in EPC Trnovlje – South will be occupied by interested businesses. This target was also a key requirement of the public call for investment co-financing.
